Yes Indeed

Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.

On Voice and Narrative

We all contain the possibility  of a unique and exact way of looking at things.  This is the root of our voice.  Also, we are creatures of story—story is the main way we make sense of the world around us.  For most of us, we cannot understand ideas and concepts unless you hang them on a story.  A story is a telling of the actions of characters in a particular place at a certain time.  When you can use your experiences to give practical proof of your ideas— weave in pertinent stories—you are writing with voice.

And by the way, try to tell your stories in a way that makes your reader raise their eyebrows and sit up in their chair.  To do this, show people in action and include surprising detail.
